Astroburn Lite is a handy application that provides you with the basic functionality you need to burn data discs. The program is capable of burning CDs, DVDs, and Blu-ray discs. It allows you to change the language of its interface into nearly 40 popular languages, and it includes 9 skins for you to choose its look from. Although the program is free, you will need to buy a license if you plan to use it for commercial purposes. Anyway, you can acquire the license for as low as $5.99.
The program allows you to burn data discs either directly with your files and folders or from a disc image file. The main window includes two tabs, one for each of these functions. The "Files" tab allows you to add the files and folders to be included in the disc and even to create your own folder structure. You can also remove previously added elements from the list, select the disc's file system (UDF or ISO9660+Joliet), change the disc's label, and erase re-writable discs.
The "Image" tab, on the other hand, simply allows you to select a disc image file. The program supports burning disc image files in many popular formats such as ISO, BIN/CUE, CCD, NRG, CDI, FLAC and APE one-album files, and others. There are also some options that are common to both tabs, like the possibility of selecting your preferred burning drive and burning speed. There is also an indicator that shows you the used, planned, exceeded, and free spaces of your disc in a textual way.
In short, Astroburn Lite is a practical tool that allows you to burn data discs in a very easy way. However, its functionality is limited when compared to other similar disc burners.
